International research firm Parks Associates anticipates 2011 will mark the resurgence of the Smart Home concept
Well it’s good to know that I just might have been right when it comes to the chances of 2011 being the “Year of the Connected Home”! How do I know this? It seems that the research firm Parks Associates is ALSO anticipating 2011 will be a big year for the Connected Home, or as they call it, the Smart Home concept. Here’s an excerpt from our friends at Home Toys:
International research firm Parks Associates anticipates 2011 will mark the resurgence of the Smart Home concept following a series of CES announcements as well as research showing U.S. consumers value energy management as a lifestyle choice.
Needless to say this bodes well with me as I was a bit worried about calling attention to one particular columnists’ claim that “no one in Americaland” was interested in the Connected Home. I disagreed with his assessment and now can relax a bit having the likes of Parks Associates backing me up. Not only are they anticipating 2011 as being a big year for the Smart Home, but they also named Gesture recognition technology as a trend to watch also! This was also one of my picks for 2011. Not bad eh? ![]()
