3 technologies from CES that could make 2011 the year of the Connected Home
My most recent article for Home Toys focuses on what looks like mounting evidence for a massive surge of interest in the Smart Home concept commonly referred to as the “Connected Home”. In addition to a call to action to the Industry leaders who sat on the Connected Home panel at CES to use the enticement of whole house entertainment to get the Connected Home infrastructure’s “foot in the door” so to speak, and THEN to work in the smart energy home angle once the infrastructure is in place.
I also discuss trending technologies such as Microsoft Windows 7 Embedded and Gesture based Control as key players in this upcoming year that also will have an impact on our Home Technology lives. From new Windows 7 Embedded devices that act as a streaming media player that boots directly into Windows Media Center 7 and serves as a viable alternative for the HTPC to the average user, to the latest in gesture recognition and using gestures & voice to control much more than games! It’s all here!
Please take a few minutes and head on over to Home Toys to check out the latest, I truly hope you not only enjoy it, but that perhaps it will encourage you to learn more about the Connected Home!
