Netflix shifts into overdrive on the Playstation 3

Netflix Streaming Media

More big news on the Streaming Media front as the Netflix app on the PS3 gets a little boost by now being able to stream full 1080p with surround sound.  By now all of America should see the convenient icon under Video on the XMB.  This news come right on the heals of new products from Logitech and Sony that both have Google TV built in.

This certainly brings the PS3 a step closer towards the top when it comes to streaming content, especially as game consoles go.  While it won’t give you the functionality of an HTPC (Home Theater PC) or even the new Logitech Revue, it’s still pretty dang nice to be able to stream in true hi-def with a console many of us already have!

Enjoy your movies!

Bringing the streaming content via game consoles is a great idea for the industry.
