Comparing the Logitech Revue and the Netgear Roku

In my first article on I discussed the trend I see in Streaming Media and discussed how I feel that we’re on the verge of a major shift in how much of the world will start obtaining their content.  And while Roku has been around for quite some time with a really solid product in their series of Streaming Media servers, leave it to Google to really shake things up.  The much anticipated Google TV has finally entered the market place via a choice between a Sony TV or Blu-ray player and the Logitech Revue.  I chose to focus my second article at on a comparison between the Logitech Revue and the Netgear Roku especially because of the similarities between devices…as well as the differences!  I hope you’ll take the time to go check it out and please feel free to leave comments about your point of view here!

Do you agree?  Will Google TV be just one part of the engine that drives Streaming Media into the forefront of everyone’s TV screen?  Or will this pass as a fad like the last attempts at “Internet TV” years ago?

My guess is that this time it will stick.

After using both the Roku and the Revue, I have to say I am way more impressed with what the Revue. I like that you are able to view actual websites with the Revue. I do work at DISH and have used the Revue since day 1, but I had a Roku before the Revue came out. I would say if I had to choose between the two, I would have to go with the Revue.
