Windows Home Server Vail Public Preview Refreshed!

Ars Technica posted yesterday that the “release candidate” for Windows Home Server “Vail” is now out.  Release Candidate is in quotes because it’s actually been downgraded to just another beta.

The first beta of Vail was released in April and this newest version makes improvements like:

  • more robust storage management
  • better backup options – including the ability to backup Mac OS X computers.

A full list of what’s new in this latest beta can be found here.

The build apparently still contains several known data-loss bugs and therefore comes with the warning against using it in any production capacity.  Find the article at Ars Technica here.

Enjoy playing!
